Glacier National Park, that’s where photography changed from a hobby to a passion for me. I had my first digital camera and I could see immediately what I had photographed – instant feedback! I travelled to dozens of national and state parks to photograph amazing landscapes.
From there I got into sports photography because that’s what my children were into – sports of all kinds: baseball, soccer, basketball, horseback riding – hunter/ jumper, cross country, track and football. But I also wanted those moments where they were just being kids having fun, laughing and playing. This moved me into natural, casual portraits.
The joy in photography for me comes from showing someone a photo of themselves and they break into a big smile and say, “I love it.” When I am out early in the morning watching the sunrise in a National Park and the scenery and colors are just amazing – these are the moments that make me keep on taking photographs.
